Hello!

The Wine-Dark Sea is looking for a singer!

Check out our hastily written craigslist ad for details!

Or – go right to the new demos and record your own vocals.  We’re looking for geniuses who are punctual and friendly.

New Evidence that Gustave Whitehead was “First In Flight”?

March 19, 2013

My wife brought this interesting story on NPR’s Morning Edition to my attention!

If you’ve read my blog at all, you’ll know I have more than a casual interest in Gustave Whitehead.

Fort Henry’s new Discovery Centre

May 23, 2012

This was a really fun project to work on, and especially as I got to be a lead designer and editor for several of the pieces in the Centre.  I hope to be able to show more examples from this project soon.

Toast

September 19, 2011

A friend of mine put this in front of me.  Excellent stuff.

Roger Ebert featured a nice animation at the Chicago Sun-Times:
http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/this-slice-is-always-chasing-r.html

And while I try to never acknowledge the existence of Facebook, he said something interesting

The director sent me this link. As I watched. I became gob-smacked. Astonishing, how animation makes reality irrelevant.

What I would encourage my MoGraph 1 students to take from this is that with a decent command of After Effects and a very strong sense of story, you can make some worth taking 4 minutes to watch…which is honestly a lot harder than it sounds.

STORY is the most important special effect.

Cheers.
